How to Get Fit at Home in a Month – 14 Reasons I Invested in a Stationary Bike

If you are not sure where to start but want to discover how to get fit from home in a month, I have a good suggestion for you. Why not try a stationary bike? A stationary bike has a lot to offer, from the beginner to the seasoned Pro.

Before you go out to make your investment in an exercise bike, here are some reasons to consider this as a great option.

It is Easy to Use

Just like riding a standard bike, this exercise bike is quite simple to use. There are a wide variety of options and brands to choose from, with many bells and whistles, but the general idea is still the same exercise and motion that you learned as a kid.

Whether you choose the advanced models with screens and online trainers with online classes to join, or you just want to exercise in the quiet of your home, it is there waiting for you to use without even reading the manual. Once you have read the manual and can join the online biking community, the world is at your fingertips!

Provides a Quality Workout

Your workout is as effective as the time and energy you put into it. With a 30-minute workout you can burn up to 400 calories.

The exercise bike is used for basic cardio exercise. Add some dumbbells and flexibility training and you can receive a full-body, muscle-building workout in a month.

The Entire Family Can Use It

Because the motions are so basic, the entire family can use the exercise bike. It a one-time purchase that everyone can enjoy. In contrast, gym memberships for the entire family are quite costly and it may be difficult to get everyone involved.

When you exercise at home, you set a good example of developing a healthy, active lifestyle. Most exercise bikes are quiet enough that you can use it while others are studying, sleeping, or watching their favorite TV program.

It Takes a Small Amount of Floor Space

Some friends came over the other week. I sat on the bike and slowly pedaled while we were chatting. It was a casual gathering, of course. When I got up to serve drinks, a friend decided she would like to try my bike which sits in the corner of the living room. She thought it would be a great way to keep her joints lubricated.

Another friend, as an example, has her bike in a spare bedroom. That is what is great about the exercise bike, you can add one anywhere you have some extra space, whether it is on the main floor, in a renovated attic exercise space, or in the basement rec room. Or you could fold one up and put it in the closet when you are not using it!

Some Bikes Have the Convenience of Folding

If you are looking for space-saving convenience you can find a folding exercise bike. Folding bikes can be stashed in a corner while not in use.

One such folding bike that has a great review is the ProGear 225 Foldable Magnetic Upright Bike. It has easy to follow assembly instructions, is compact in size and simple to use.

For a light-weight bike, it is sturdy and pedals smoothly, and has transportation wheels, as a result you can move it when you need to. It is supposed to accommodates up to 220 pounds, but would be a bit tight for someone who is tall at that weight. A great, basic exercise bike even though it has few bells and whistles. It is noteworthy that is folds into a 19” L x 17.5” W x 53” H. space for compact storage.

it-is-affordable

It is Affordable

You only pay once! As a result, you are saving the cost of those monthly gym membership fees. The beauty of an exercise bike is that you only pay once! Once the equipment is paid for, it is yours.

I must add, if you want variety, there are a host of apps available. Some are free and some are paid. You can find a structured training experience with custom workouts, or other apps provide a virtual riding experience.

Some Models are Loaded with Features

The Bowflex C6 Bike has Bluetooth Connectivity to work with the Peloton App, the Zwift App, and the World App, so you can ride through virtual courses, both exotic and on mountain terrain. The Bowflex C6 has an incredibly smooth, quiet ride and 100 micro-adjustable resistance levels. It also has a pair of 3 lb. dumbbells which cradle within easy-reach.

Features on Exercise Bikes:

The Yosuda stationary bike has great reviews and plenty of features.

Comfort

You will want to get a good riding experience from your bike. Look for an adjustable seat with a heavy-duty flywheel to give you a smooth ride, and ease of controls. Multiple position handlebars add to your comfort level on the bike.

Track Your Workout

A heart rate monitor is often a contact monitor on the handle-bars which are activated by touch. Some bikes offer a more accurate monitor which straps to your chest.

A clear display of distance traveled, and calories burned help you track your workout.

Quality Purchase

A heavy-duty steel frame and a hassle-free, 30-day money back guarantee for any reason, with a lifetime warranty on the frame are all good things to look for in your purchase.

Internet Purchases

If it is purchased on the internet, you should look for good, independent reviews. Internet purchases may save you money by not charging sales tax. Sometimes they will offer free shipping as well, with purchases over a specified amount. If shipping is extra, you should add it to the total cost of the bike.

Benefits of the Bike:

Cardio

There are many benefits of having an exercise bike in your home. You can get cardio fitness training whenever you want, day or night. Cardio is great for your circulation. It gets your heart pumping and your blood coursing through your veins. With consistent exercise, you can lower your resting heart rate and reduce your risk of heart attacks.

  3. Being able to get fit easily at home is not so hard because I have seen people who have a good home gym that have used exercise as a good way to get fit through the equipment. I find that a stationary bike is one of the most essential machines for running a good home gym. I have been looking to buy one myself.

    • An exercise bike seems to be a go-to for home gym equipment. It doesn’t take up that much space, and is an exercise that most of us are familiar with from our childhood.
